New Insignia for U.S.Army Planes in China

An artist of the China Air Task Force Fighter Command of the United States Army Air Force puts the finishing touches on the insignia of aU.S.Plane.These men and planes fly under the command of Brigadier General Claire L.Chennault,who is in charge of the American air force now in China and formerly commander of the American Volunteer Group,called the"Flying Tigers"which flew in China before the United States entered the war against Japan.In the new insignia,the tiger,wearing Uncle Sam's hat to represent the"Flying Tigers"now flying with the U.S.Army Air Forces,is shown tearing the Japanese flag to shreds.The Chinese sun indicates themission in China.
